30 Black Friday Video Ad Examples: Hooks, Structures and Offer Lines
Summary

Hooks, structures and offer lines from 30 Black Friday video ads that ran on Meta last November, across beauty, home and fashion, plus how to make your own version for 2026 without copying anyone.

Black Friday creative usually gets made in a rush, the week the discount is approved. A better starting point is what brands actually ran last year. We pulled 30 Black Friday video ads from Meta's Ad Library, 10 each in beauty, home and kitchen, and fashion, and broke every one down: the first three seconds, the structure, how the offer is stated, and how long the ad stayed live.

Every ad below links to its public Ad Library page, so you can watch it yourself. We describe them in our own words and don't re-host anyone's footage. The goal is to borrow structures, not ads.

What we looked at

  • Source: Meta Ad Library, search "black friday", video ads only, delivery dates November 1 to December 2, 2025. Most of these advertisers sell in the UK and Europe. That's a quirk of the source: EU rules (the Digital Services Act, Article 39) require large platforms to keep ads that ran in the EU searchable for a year after they last ran, so last November's European campaigns are still there to study. The structures below don't depend on the market.
  • Sample: 30 ads, physical products only. We skipped apps, services and restricted categories.
  • What we recorded: length, format, first three seconds, scene-by-scene structure, offer wording, and the dates each ad was live.
  • Caveat: this is a hand-picked sample of 30, not a statistically representative study. "Days live" tells you an advertiser kept paying for an ad, not what it returned.

Key takeaways

  • Two formats did most of the work. 12 of the 30 were product demos and 8 were creator talking heads. The rest: 5 unboxings or hauls, 2 skits, 2 text-only offer cards and 1 before/after.
  • They were short. Median length was 23 seconds. 13 of 30 ran 20 seconds or less, and 22 of 30 ran 35 seconds or less.
  • Many were kept live for weeks. The median ad stayed live 19 days, and 10 ran 30 days or more. 5 ran 100+ days, well past the sale. Four of those five don't mention Black Friday in the video itself, which is what let them keep running after the discount ended. One (Vanicosmetics, beauty-07) launched for Black Friday 2024 and was still live in February 2026.
  • Concrete numbers beat "big sale". The clearest offers stated the math: a box "worth over £125 for £35", "4 shirts for £120", "every product £9.99", buy one pair and get one free.
  • Not every reason to buy now was a discount. Members' early access, click & collect "to beat the rush", next-day delivery and a restocked bestseller all showed up as the urgency line.

The 5 structures that kept showing up

1. Result first, explanation later

The payoff is on screen in the first three seconds. The ad then rewinds to show how it happened.

  • Kuvings Germany (home-07) opens on chocolate nut milk pouring from the juicer into a glass, then shows the soaked nuts and dates it was made from.
  • Solara Home (home-06) wipes grease off steel before saying a word.

Why it works: the viewer decides in about a second whether this is for them, and a visible result answers that faster than any claim.

Make your version: film the "after" first. If your product can't show a physical transformation, lead with the outcome the buyer cares about: the finished outfit, the plated dish, the organized drawer.

2. The offer is the first frame

Space NK (beauty-01), Vanicosmetics (beauty-07), CCC (fashion-09) and Hawes & Curtis (fashion-05) put the discount on screen immediately, over a quick product montage. Several of these are under 15 seconds.

Why it works: during Black Friday week many viewers have already decided to buy something. For people who know you, the price is the hook.

Make your version: cheapest structure to produce. A product montage, one offer line and one call to action. Use it for retargeting and past customers. Use structures 1, 3 or 4 for cold audiences, who need a reason to care before they see a price.

3. Value math, said out loud

LOOKFANTASTIC with creator Cissy Jones (beauty-05) gives the full calculation in the first sentence: "worth over £125 for £35, and you get seven items". CRIMPiT (home-09) states one flat price for every product. Nanga Shoes (fashion-03) explains buy-one-get-one inside six seconds while holding both pairs.

Why it works: a percentage makes people do arithmetic. A worked number, or two physical items in someone's hands, doesn't.

Make your version: write your offer as "X for Y" or "2 for 1" before you write anything else. If your offer can't be said in one sentence, simplify the offer, not the ad.

4. A creator's haul or routine

One person, several products, framed as "my picks":

  • ASOS (fashion-01): a creator holds the parcel, then runs a fast try-on.
  • Notino (beauty-03) and Clinique (beauty-09): routines built around the products.
  • Boots (beauty-10): a creator picking up an order in store.

Why it works: a haul sells a basket, not a single SKU. That fits Black Friday, when shoppers buy several items and gifts.

Make your version: pick 3 to 5 products that make sense together, and give each one a single line of script: what it is, one benefit, the deal.

5. A small story

Two skits:

  • Lidl (home-03): a mum's voice note to her daughter while the daughter tours the haul.
  • ProCook (home-05): staff keep stacking boxes on a shopper until the pile falls.

Why it works: both are built for retailers with many products. The story carries the variety, and the joke makes it rewatchable.

Make your version: skits need actors and timing. If you don't have them, a voice note, a text-message exchange or a "POV" caption over product shots gives a similar story frame.

Offer lines worth borrowing (adapt them, don't copy them)

  • "[Product] is now [X]% off. Our biggest sale ever." (Novara Shop, home-04)
  • "Worth over [£X] for [£Y]. You get [N] items." (LOOKFANTASTIC, beauty-05)
  • "Right now for Black Friday, all [brand] products are [£X]." (CRIMPiT, home-09)
  • "[N] for [£X]." (Hawes & Curtis, fashion-05)
  • "Beat the Black Friday rush." (Boots, beauty-10)
  • "Members get early access." (Regatta, fashion-10)
  • "A bestseller, restocked for Black Friday." (Legend London, fashion-06)
  • A discount code read out and shown on screen, like "BF30". (Kuvings, home-07)

How to make your Black Friday version with AI, and where AI isn't the right tool

If your ad is…AI can do most of itWhere to use real footage
An offer card or product montage (structure 2)Yes. Paste your product page link and generate a showcase ad. Test several offer lines on the same visuals. Not needed
A creator haul or routine (structure 4)Mostly. An AI presenter can deliver your script for each product. For close-up texture or fit, add a few phone shots of the real product
Result first (structure 1)The hook, captions, voiceover and cut-downsThe transformation itself (cleaning, cooking, makeup removal) should be filmed on the real product. Viewers can tell, and it's your claim to prove
An evergreen ad you already runYes. Make Black Friday variants of your own best performer: a new offer line, new opening, new lengthNot needed

AdsTurbo does the first and last rows directly:

  • Paste a product link to get a video ad.
  • Reuse the structure of your own winning ad with Ad Clone. Ad Clone is for ads you own or have permission to use.
  • Video translation covers 70+ languages, which matters if, like most of the ads above, you sell into several European markets.

Use the structure, not the ad

Learning from structure is fine. Copying someone else's footage, music, logo or a recognizable person is not, and the ad platforms enforce this:

Write your own script, use your own product shots, and get consent for any real person's face or voice. This isn't legal advice. If you're unsure, ask counsel.

FAQ

Where can I find last year's Black Friday ads? Meta's Ad Library keeps ads that ran in the EU searchable for a year after they last ran, because the EU's Digital Services Act requires it. Search "black friday", filter to video, and set the date range to last November. TikTok's Creative Center shows current top ads, and some views need a TikTok for Business login.

How long should a Black Friday video ad be? In this sample the median was 23 seconds, and 13 of 30 were 20 seconds or shorter. A practical split is a 6–15 second offer cut for retargeting and a 20–35 second version for new audiences. That's our recommendation, not a platform rule.

Should the discount be in the first three seconds? For people who already know you, often yes (structure 2). For cold audiences, the ads above usually earned attention first with a result, a question or a creator, then stated the offer.

Can I use AI to copy a competitor's Black Friday ad? Copy the structure, not the asset. Platform rules prohibit using other people's footage and brands without permission. Tools like AdsTurbo's Ad Clone are meant for your own ads or ones you have rights to.
